Cross Browser Compatibility

Websites can look different when viewed with different browsers at different screen sizes. In particular websites viewed in Internet Explorer can appear differently to those viewed in most other browsers. This is a problem that has arisen because all other browsers use a standard which Microsoft does not adhere to. This can cause serious problems, with websites, which look fine in most browsers, being completely unreadable in IE. In addition IE7 sometimes behaves differently to IE6!

Not everyone uses Windows or IE. Mac users often use a browser called Safari and Linux users may use Konqueror. So to ensure you do not lose visitors because of unreadable websites all our websites are checked, at different screen sizes with a very wide range of browsers.

Favicons

Favicons are the small icons that you see in the address bar (for firefox and other browsers), in the tab bar and in your favorites. They are also added as a desktop icon when you make a shortcut to a website on your desktop. All websites should have favicons! They identify your siteĀ  and look much better in your shortcuts and on the desktop than the regular IE or Firefox icon! The favicon for this site is a tropical sunset scene.

Favicons are easy to make from icon files and we always include a suitable favicon when we build a website. It is an easy way to enhance theĀ  look of your website.
