I clicked your Buttons For My Blogs link above and got a Not Found. Same thing happened with the Download Themes link, so I had a closer look. Some, but not all, of your internal links include /2007/09/06/button-links-to-my-blog/ which shouldn’t be there. My guess is it is only happening for Pages, not Posts - probably something to do with Permalinks.
I’m interested in the concept of link back buttons - I’m holding a poll on link backs for plugins. I stopped short of adding a link back on the sidebar widget for my DualFeeds plugin (gives you both full post and summary feeds), but did put a Powered By statement there, as I’m finding it hard to get the word out.
I guess the issue is more clear-cut for themes. A site uses many plugins, so you don’t want link backs for all of them, but it only uses one theme and it is much more important than one plugin. If I was using a theme written by someone else, I’d have no problem with displaying a link back button.
Hey Stephen, Thanks for letting me know the problem. I recently managed (after something of a struggle) to get pretty links working. No idea why it’s adding extra stuff to some internal links but I hope I’ve got them sorted now!
