A random collection of some of my favorite addons (in no particular order!)
Greasemonkey
Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension that allows you to customize the way webpages look and function. Hundreds of scripts are already available for free. And if you’re the tinkerer sort, you can also write your own.
Greasemonkey will change the way a web page appears or functions by associating some javascript with the web page. Some scripts change the colours, get rid of ads, add functions to particular web pages.

Google Notebook
Collect notes from all around the web and add to your Google Notebook with a quick open button on the status bar.
With Google Notebook, you can browse, clip, and organize information from across the web in a single online location that’s accessible from any computer. Planning a trip? Researching a product? Just add clippings to your notebook. You won’t ever have to leave your browser window.
Downloading the firefox extension enables you to use the mini Google Notebook. The mini Google Notebook allows you to clip information from the web without ever leaving the page you’re on. You’ll never again need to toggle between windows, or copy and paste info from your browser window to another application.

This is one of the first addons I install on a fresh copy of firefox. With Add Bookmark Here you can easily add bookmarks to the bookmark toolbar or its subfolders.
Main Features:

+ Allow to insert a bookmark by using right-click on a bookmark menuitem.
+ Automatic load the bookmark’s favicon.ico after you bookmark a page.
+ Show the URL on statusbar when your mouse over the Bookmarks Toolbar item.

Hi Janet, I’m enjoying your posts about the plugins, but I think you need to correct something here:
‘Greasemonkey will change the way a web page appears or functions by associating some java code with the web page.’
I think Greasemonkey actually works with JavaScript, which is not the same as Java. It’s a minor thing, but die-hard coders won’t like it
I’ve recently tried to write some of my own plugins for FF and found out that you can only use JavaScript in combination with XUL, which was -in all honesty- a bit of a let-down for me.
I hope this helps. Sorry for being annoying.
Hi Bart
Thanks for the correction! Not being a coder I missed that. Glad you’re enjoying the rest.
