I’m a British ex-pat living in Antigua in the West Indies. I teach chemistry at a medical school here ( a legitimate one!) and am a linux fanatic. I also love mudding (multi-user-dungeoning) and am building a mud, Aeternity - an adventure in time, with some like minded friends from all over the world. It’s still in early stages as we are rewriting the entire code-base to make it exactly what we want which will take some time.
I made a website using Joomla! for Aeternity but then began experimenting with Wordpress which I find to be much easier to use than Joomla! I A friend asked me to produce a website for them, and then my son, and seeing a need for low cost, client friendly websites, especially here in Antigua, I decided to begin producing them commercially. I am also in the process of setting up a site for my department at the University.
I’ve learned a great deal about Wordpress, CSS, PHP, SEO etc in the last year and would like to pass this knowledge on to help anyone struggling to get to grips with it. I hope to produce easy to follow tutorials, especially for those new to the whole thing. Setting up databases and managing hosting etc is daunting for a newbie and I hope to make this easier.
