Quick Tip - Wordbay Update

The latest version of WordBay v0.9 now has a minimum/maximum price option. This is great for filtering out lots of low cost junk.e.g. if you have a site selling cars you can now eliminate all the car parts without having to add a long string of negative keywords. This plugin keeps getting better and better, and it’s still free (but please consider leaving the 5% generosity so Mark gets something for all his hard work!) Thanks a lot Mark

WordPress Plugin of the Week- PopShops

I haven’t added a ‘WordPress Plugin of the Week’ for some time but here’s one I can recommend. As you know I’ve been working with BANS and WordBay for my eBay affiliate stores but in the interests of diversifying I’ve been looking into the best way to market other merchants products. I wanted a way to market products from a range of affiliate sites e.g. Commission Junction, LinkShare, Pepperjam etc and I also like working with WordPress so I needed an answer to combine both. I especially like working with WordPress rather than a stand alone website and I didn’t want a site that was hosted by the provider of the script as some are. I like to be in much more control than that! In addition some of the methods are expensive! Continue reading ‘WordPress Plugin of the Week- PopShops’

Commissions Down on EBPN?

It’s now been a whole month since the change to eBay Partner Network (EBPN) from CJ so how are you commissions? There’s been a lot of activity on the forums with many people reporting commissions way down since the change. There have also been a number of problems that people have experienced this month in addition to the change to EBPN. Many of us have had our .info domains deindexed, people hosting on GoDaddy had no auctions showing on their sites for nearly 2 weeks and then Hostgator decided to change everyones passwords for security reasons so some websites had errors instead of auctions. How To:Exchange Links with Relevant Sites

Finding a link exchange program that works and doesn’t give you lots of spammy links proved a challenge! I’ve tried many different ones and each one had some problems. Difficult code to install, irrelevant links (one gave me links to porn sites!)but I seem to have found one that works well and gives you relevant links.

Update - Google Slapped

I’ve moved all except one of my .info BANS sites to .com domain names. I’m leaving one to see if it ever comes back. So far, after 3 weeks, it’s still de-indexed. The .com sites are all indexed and I’m beginning to get traffic and bids from them. It will be interesting to see if the .info one remaining ever comes back. Many people are saying - it’s OK they’ll come back - just keep adding content and backlinks. ALL my .info sites had content and backlinks so I really don’t see how that can make any difference and I’m not prepared to waste my time increasing them. If it takes 3 months for them to come back (as I’ve seen quoted) I’ll make more than enough to cover the cost of the new domain names in that time.
So I’m using .com domain names in the future!
